February's Blogs To Follow

Hi Guys!
So I thought I would start up a little monthly post of my favourite blogs for you lot to see, and in case you don't already follow them you may just find a gem or two. I've seen these done on other blogs so I thought why not I'll give it a go!

I love Kirsty's blog over at 'Behind These Closed Eyes'. Her photography is beautiful and I love her content. Also shes just turned 21 so go wish her a Happy Birthday!

Kayleigh over at 'Couture Girl' is probably one of my blog crushes. Her blog gives me such inspiration to do the best for my blog.

Aly over at 'Wonderland Beauty' is a new blog for me. But in the short time I've had reading it I've got addicted.

Holly's blog is again another recent blog find for me. I love her reviews and they are such enablers for me to purchase the reviewed items.

Charl's blog 'Ginger Girl Says' makes for perfect bedtime reading or when I'm bored I know I can cruise on over to Charl's blog and be engaged for hours.

If you know of any amazing blogs or would like me to check your blog out, leave it in a comment below!

My 4 Favourite Mascaras

I would probably say my lashes/eyes are my best asset. I get complimented on them quite a lot (without sounding big headed) and I put it down to being born with naturally long dark eyelashes- thanks dad! So one of my favourite makeup products is mascara and although I have long lashes already I like to more length and thicken them up a bit. So I thought I would show you the 4 mascaras I have tried out and loved the most.

Benefit They're Real
I've gone through two of these bad boys since they were first released. I know what your thinking but it was released quite a bit of time ago, well I don't know about you but I like to switch up my mascaras every now and then just for something new. This definitely adds length to my lashes and as the name would suggest they give the false lash effect. Another feature I love is the brush as it has a normal wand but at the end is a little ball to help you reach the inner and outer corners with ease.

Dior Extase
I love, love love this mascara. I just wished it didn't come with a hefty price tag for a mascara. This gave me the best length I have ever got from a mascara and also the separation it gives is just amazing. One thing I hate about some mascaras is the clumpy lashes they can sometimes give you. I hate when some of my lashes get stuck together and the more I try and separate them the clumpier they get. The brush has this weird twisted look to it which helps completely coat all your lashes.

L'Oreal Volume Million Lashes
This is my current mascara which I am actually just coming to the end of, its starting to get that drying out feel to it. I do like this mascara and would definitely repurchase it as it is a great selling price for such a good mascara. I would definitely say this concentrates more on length than anything else. And again the brush has a slight end to it to help reach inner and outer corners of the lashes. Would recommend this to anyone that wanted to try a good, cheaper mascara.

YSL Effet Faux Cils Shocking
Now now now what can I say about YSL mascaras that you haven't heard, probably nothing. Now we all know they are infamous for drying out so quick and I think this is such a shame as this is an amazing mascara. Again a little on the pricey side and if I had the money I would repurchase it if it wasn't for the drying out so quickly. The wand is just a normal straight brush, nothing spectacular but gives the lashes a lovely finish. The shocking version of the original gives a 'blacker' finish as it is more pigmented than the original.

Whats your favourite mascara?

Lazy Day Makeup

Evening!
On my days off I like to be a bit more relaxed with my makeup than I am with my every day work look. So tonight I thought I would talk about what I like to wear on my days off from work or what I like to call 'My Lazy Day Makeup'.

Laura Mercier Tinted Moisturizer SPF 20 in Nude
I've read so many reviews about this ever so famous product and have lusted after it for quite some time. Now I've finally got my hands on it and am absolutely loving it. I love the coverage of it and the fact you can build it up to however you like it. Its the perfect coverage for me so that I don't feel like I have layers of concealer and foundation on.

MAC Blusher in Well Dressed
This was the first ever blusher I bought from MAC, back when I was a beauty newbie and didn't really have a clue what kind of obsessive makeup junkie I would become. I love the light natural pink colour it leaves on my cheeks and is great for that everyday natural look.

Givenchy Noir Couture 4-in-1 Mascara
I've been using a sample of this mascara for about a week and love the finish it gives my lashes. I am still getting to grips with the wand as I've never used a mascara with a brush like this one. Its a triple sphere wand which makes applying mascara fast and easy with the triple sphere helping you reach all the corners. The 4-in-1 feature provides volume, length, curl and care.

And to finish the look off I usually will apply a lipstick in whatever colour I'm fancying that day or just a lip balm if I'm not feeling very adventurous.

What do you like to wear on your days off?

PayDay Beauty Shopping List

Around this time every month I start imagining (and sometimes daydream) about what beauty items I'm going to spend my hard earned money on. So with payday approaching (just not fast enough) I thought I'd do a post about what's on my shopping list this month...

1. B. Pure Micellar Water - £4.99 - Superdrug
I hadn't heard a lot about much skincare from Superdrug as I usually buy mine from where I work or Boots. So when I read about the whole B. range from London Beauty Queen (you can read her post about it here) I was very intrigued to see what they had to offer. She also mentioned about their Pure Micellar Water and it's basically a cheaper version of the Bioderma one at a fraction of the price so can't wait to get my hands on this.

2. Crown Brush BK13 Blending Fluff Brush - £2.69 - Crownbrush.co.uk
I think I heard about Crown Brushes through Youtube after watching several haul videos from Imats. But never really thought they were easily available to purchase until I heard people talking about them on Twitter so I had a look and I ideally would love them all but there are a few that I need in my brush collection which I own nothing like them. This blending fluff brush is one of them. They have blending brushes and crease brushes separately which I never thought there was two different kinds. And for £2.69 I don't think you can go wrong!

3. Crown Brush C411 Pointed Blending Brush - £5.09 - Crownbrush.co.uk
I thought I would add in this brush to my shopping list as I know MAC do a similar one (286 Duo Fibre Tapered Blending Brush) which I have always wanted but could never part with £22 to own one. So what's better then trying the same kind of brush out but at a fraction of the price.

4. MUA Undress Your Skin Highlighting Powder - £2.00 - Muastore.co.uk or Superdrug
It's been all over the bloggersphere about the new MUA Undress range and quite equally I think among us all I want to try it all. And it's easily achieved because of MUA's amazing prices for their products. At an introductory price of £2 (only to go up by £1 after) where can you go wrong? I'm always on the hunt for a new product to give me that perfect glow and this could be it. You can apply as a highlight to your cheekbones etc or add on top of blusher or bronzer to add a subtle glow (just don't go crazy or your end up looking like a disco ball.)

5. NYC Expert Last Lip in 'Flirty' - £1.99 - Superdrug
I think I saw these on someones blog of a haul they had recently done and their review of them were nothing but praise. Yes I love MAC, Chanel and Laura Mercier lippies but sometimes my bank balance just won't allow me to buy all the lovely colours I want. So when a good high street makeup brand releases a new line of lipsticks I can't help myself but be curious. I love this shade and as much as I love a bright, bold lip I am a true pink girl at heart.

6. Sleek Flick It Eyeliner - £5.99 - Superdrug
When it comes to eyeliner I've stayed faithful to my good old MAC Blacktrack fluidline. But I find it near impossible to create the perfect flick with it and got told a liquid liner is sometimes easier. Fast forward a couple of weeks and I came across Sophies review of the Sleek liquid pen liner (See her post here). Like me Sophie said how she finds eyeliner hard but since using these it has now become a daily occurance for her to wear the cat eye look with ease. Can't wait to get my hands on them!

What do you guys want when you get paid?

L'Oreal Caresse Lipstick Review

L'Oreal Caresse Lipstick in 06 Aphrodite Scarlet

Another post, another review. Tonight is about the (not so) new line of lipsticks from L'Oreal. The Caresse lippies are available in a variety of colours and lucky for me I work with a L'Oreal counter so I get to try them all out.
The colour in question I picked was number 06 Aphrodite Scarlet. The only way I can describe this colour is a pinky coral.

When swatched on my hand I absolutely loved it. However for some reason I was disappointed when I applied it to my actual lips. It came out slightly more reddish, and when it comes to red lips I don't like to do it by halves. It has to either be a full bright, bold red lip or go home. So when I applied this to my lip and saw the sheer red of the colour I knew I wouldn't get much use out of it. However I do really love the formula of these lipsticks and still can't wait to try out the other shades available soon.

This lipstick is actually up on my blog sale if any of you fancy giving it a try, click here to go straight to my sale. This plus other shades available from boots for £8.19 and at the moment are on 3 for 2.

Have you tried these lipsticks and in particular this shade? What did you think?

Maybelline Color Tattoo 24HR Review

Maybelline Color Tattoo 24HR in 40-Permanent Taupe & 35-On and on Bronze

I'm a bit late with a review of these little babies as you have probably heard everything you possibly can about them but I thought I'd still put my little old opinion out there for anyone who's interested.
Lets start by saying I love them! They are great to wear on their own if you're having a lazy day but also great as a base to build up colours on top. I have just received another one from across the pond from a beauty swap and I'm so excited to try that one out as I'm not sure whether they just have different names or if it's a shade we don't have here in the UK but Its called '15 Audacious Asphalt' and its a gorgeous grey metallic colour, perfect for creating a smokey eye.

 Top Swatch - 40-Permanent Taupe
Bottom Swatch - 35-On and On Bronze

As you can see from the swatches Permanent Taupe is slightly more matte than On and On Bronze which has a high sheen finish. I love to use both of these to create my natural looks which I wear everyday for work. And the best thing about these? They seriously last for hours. I've yet to test them for 24hr as the name suggests but for my 9 hour shift at work they are fantastic. I start work at 5am so when I'm up doing my makeup at about 3am I just want to grab the easiest products and this is included as one. I would definitely recommend these to anyone that likes an easy life when applying eye makeup and are a definite staple in my makeup bag now.

Have you tried these yet? What are your favourite colours?

I'm just going to do a brief overview of the colours so if you want a more in-depth review or look at a certain colour then feel free to comment below or email me. Address can be found in the contact me tab above. Now onto the pretty things...

Zoya Lovely Collection for Spring 2013

Today i'm here to talk about another Spring 2013 collection I'm excited about. I'm a bit late as these are already available to buy but I thought whats the harm in sharing the beauty that is these new shades. The only downside to these are they are very hard maybe even impossible to get hold of in the UK. So you could always try eBay or maybe a swap with someone lovely in the US. Anyway onto the shades...

"Spring is awash in six soft and lovely new Zoya shades including three dewy metallics and three fresh blooms of cream. Poetic in nature, this collection is sure to capture the beauty of the season like no other."

Julie
Julie can be best described as a full coverage, soft wisteria purple metallic. The soft colour and subtle shimmer give nails a feminine and delicate look. Originally created as a custom runway shade for fashion designer Zang Toi.

Neely
Neely can be best described as a full coverage earliest spring green in a glossy creme finish. A fun colour in muted finish gives a cool vintage edge to your look. Originally created as a custom runway shade for fashion designer Peter Som.

Jacqueline
Jacqueline can be best described as a full coverage perfect magnolia nude cream. This light creamy beige has slight warm undertones and a glossy cream finish. Originally created as a custom runway shade for fashion designer Peter Som.

GeiGei
GeiGei can be best described as a full coverage blushing cherry blossom pink metallic. A shimmery light shade for an always-appropriate natural pink nail look. Originally created as a custom runway shade for fashion designer Zang Toi.

Piaf
Piaf can be best described as a full coverage fresh forsythia yellow metallic. A light, cheerful yellow that's soft and easy to wear thanks to the subtle shimmer finish. Originally created as a custom runway shade for fashion designer Zang Toi.

Blu
Blu can be described as a full coverage soft and delicate pale baby blue with a glossy creme finish. A dreamy, calming blue that's both fun and flattering on the nails.

I absolutely adore this collection and only wish it was easier to get hold of in the UK. My favourite shades have to be Neely, Julie and Jacqueline. All information was found from the Zoya website.
