Baking | Hershey's Kisses Cookies & Cream Cookie Bars

So once again Becky over at milk bubble tea has got me hooked on the amazing recipes she finds online and has me needing to try and recreate them. I've done some posts in the past of my attempts at recreating some delightful recipes found on her blog so I thought I would bring you another one.
American chocolate is a marmite product to us brits, with the UK being the home of Cadburys which we all know is ah-maze-ing chocolate some people just don't like the American brown stuff (most likely it will have been Hersheys). I on the other hand love it. It is completely different to our chocolate but there is just something about it I love. So with that in mind when I saw this recipe I knew I had to remake it. The clue is in the title of this post... Hersheys Cookies & Cream Kisses!! I looked on the site where Becky found the recipe from which is called Picky Palate which is just another amazing baking site and followed from both really. So firstly what do you need to make these amazing little cookie bars of goodness...

1/2 cup softened unsalted butter
1 cup of white sugar
1 large egg
1 1/2 cups of plain flour
a pinch of salt
1/2 tsp of baking soda
1/2 bag of chocolate chips
10 oreo biscuits
10 hershey's kisses, cookies and cream flavour.

First pre heat your oven to 180 degrees which is gas mark 4/5 and let that heat up whilst you start preparing these yummy treats. In a bowl mix the butter (its best when it's at room temperature, easier to mix!) and add the sugar and egg and mix well. Next add in the flour, salt & baking soda and mix then fold in the chocolate chips. Crush up the oreos either with your hands on bash them with a rolling pin and mix in. Line a dish or I used a brownie tin with tin foil and spread half the mix in the tin. Place a Hersheys kiss evenly around the tin and push into the dough. Then use the remaining mix to cover the kisses. Bake for around 25-30 minutes.

Now fair to say mine didn't come out looking quite as scrumptious as Becky's did but they were still super yummy! And you know what they say, Practice makes perfect!!

Do let me know if you take a attempt at making these, I would love to see what yours look like.

Haul | Blog Sale Purchases

A couple of weeks ago I noticed that Adrienne from The Sunday Girl was having a blog sale and having never bought anything from a blog sale before I thought I would check it out. She had some really good products up for sale and if I had been quicker I would of definitely had purchased more but here is what I did get my hands on.

The first thing is an Elf Blush, there isn't a colour name on it but after looking at the website I think it might be Giddy Gold. I don't own any Elf blushes nor do I own many elf products but I will be buying more stuff to try as the pigmentation in this blush is amazing. Next is two Nicole by OPI nail polishes in the shades Stand By Your Manny and Alex By The Books. They are both perfect spring/summer colours and I especially can't wait to wear Alex By The Books which is the mint green colour. Another nail polish I picked up was by Angelica and it's in the shade Brit Pop 92. Its a really pretty glitter polish which will be great as an accent nail or even all of them at New Years Eve. And finally I got a Revlon Lip Butter in 045 Cotton Candy which is a pretty dark rosey pink colour. This is only my second lip butter and do plan to add many more to my collection.

So that's what I bought, I hope you liked this post and do let me know of any blog sales as I'm always on the hunt for new beauty goodies!

Sunday Roundup | A Quick Update

This is going to be a little bit of a ramble post about what I've been up to and what I've got coming in for me. So first let me take you through the past week.

As some of you may know I'm starting a new job with Molton Brown at Gatwick Airport so this week I had to go get my new pass which was the last step to make me officially a Molton Brown girl. Me and my mum popped into town and I picked up a few goodies in Boots and TKMaxx so look out for future posts on them. My mum kindly drove me up to Gatwick to get my new pass as my car was in the garage so we had a nice little drive listening to some music. It was a good excuse to wear my cheap Primark Rayban copies. Two of the goodies I picked up which I was most excited about was from TKMaxx. I got two OPI Nail Envy's, one of the original formula and one of the Matte formula for £9.99. I love the original nail envy and haven't tried the Matte finish yet so excited to try these out. Also I picked up the It's A 10 Leave In Conditioner. I always hear so many American Youtubers and bloggers talking about this product and this is the first time I've seen it in my local TKMaxx. I used it last night and it's made my hair feel so soft.

I've never tried a Piña Colada before so when I spotted the Parrot Bay Frozen drinks on offer in Asda I thought I'd give it a go. And with this hot weather we've been having an ice cold cocktail was exactly the right move. I did enjoy it and would probably purchase it again. I recently posted a haul on what I bought in the Illamasqua sale which you can read here and instagrammed a picture which was liked by the official Illamasqua instagram which made my day. Of course one of the biggest things that happened this week was Kate & Wills had their little baby boy HRH Prince George Alexander Louis of Cambridge. I love babies and think he is so cute especially when they brought him out and he did his first royal wave! And finally with all this nice weather and having some spare time in between jobs I got to spend some time with some friends I haven't seen in a while. One whom is moving to America so it was lovely to see her and her new baby boy and play in the park with her little girl before they leave.

So now onto the future. I start my new job with Molton Brown tomorrow and this first week is going to be very hectic and stressful getting to know what the job is about and what is expected of me along with a trip up to Heathrow so I may not be able to post as often as I have done. I will try and get as many posts done and on my next days off will try and schedule some. So thank you for sticking by me and sticking with me and my little baby (yes I call my blog my baby ha!).

Review | The Body Shop Satsuma Body Polish

This is my final review in the three products I was sent by the lovely people at the body shop. You can see my other two reviews here and here. So today I'm talking about the Satsuma Body Polish* and let me tell you my shower habits have completely changed. I never really gave much thought to the products I used in the shower, if it smelt nice I would buy it but that is now a thing of the past.

With suffering from eczema whenever I've purchased a body scrub I always felt like I had to go for a harsh scrub to feel like it did anything. For example I used to use Lushs Ocean Salt Scrub which has big rocks of salt in it. Now some people think this is crazy when you suffer from eczema and would make it worse but luckily I don't have it that bad and mine isn't super sensitive so I prefer a product to be a bit harsh so I felt like it would make a difference. Well that's what i used to think until I tried out this beauty product.

First lets talk about the scent, I love it! With fragrances in mind I tend to go for fruity, light and sweet scents. So obviously this transfers into any other products I use with a scent so when I first opened this up and smelt it I knew this was the perfect scent for me. Then when I saw the fine beads in it I second guessed the product. I thought that it was going to make me smell nice but not have any other benefits to my skin, boy was I wrong! I totally take back my first opinion of it and just tell you guys never judge a product by its cover. My skin has never felt so good and finally I have the courage to wear short sleeved tops out and bare my arms. I use this alongside the new Nivea In Shower Body Moisturiser in the blue bottle for dry skin and these two together are winning products. I will definitely be trying out the different scents in the body polishes from The Body Shop and can't wait to repurchase this as my new favourite shower product.

It's available from The Body Shop site and costs £10 for 200ml.
A 75ml tube is also available for £5.

Have you tried any of the Body Shops Body Polishes? What's your favourite scent?

Haul | Fragrance Direct

I have always perused the Fragrance Direct website but never actually made any purchases which is surprising as there are so many great deals on drugstore/high street products. Well that was until now! I decided the other week as it was my birthday to treat myself to some goodies from the site. I literally spent about 2 hours browsing all the different brands and picking some right bargains out and adding them to my basket.

First is the Macadamia Natural Oil Deep Repair Masque. I'm an avid lover of the Macadamia Healing Oil Treatment so I thought I would give the repair masque a go. I will have reviews of all these products up on the blog over the coming months so be sure to look out for them. Next I needed some new emery boards but didn't want to pay a fortune so I picked up these Revlon Expert Shapers For Weak Nails for 99p!!

These Maybelline Color Sensational Popsticks lipsticks I have seen in stores but never picked them up. When I saw then on Fragrance Direct for only £1.99 I knew I had to snap them up. So I picked up 030 Pink Lollipop and 060 Citrus Slice, both are very sheer so more like a lip balm but they smell absolutely divine.

The two L'Oreal products I picked up was the Color Riche Nail Polish in 116 Creamy Angora which is a nice nude polish and as I don't own any nude polishes I thought this would make the perfect start. The Infallible Lip Duo Compact is in 101 Always Toasted which is a gorgeous deep pink and I've never tried any of these 2 lip product where one helps it stay on for longer so interested in trying this out. I then picked up for 99p the Revlon Super Lustrous Lip Gloss in the shade Peach Petal which is a pretty nude.

As some of you may know my favourite holy grail foundation is the Rimmel Wake Me Up which I have been loving and have non stopped used since I discovered it. Alongside that I also use the Wake Me Up concealer. So when I saw these Rimmel Wake Me Up Shimmer Touch products for £1.99 instead of £4.99 it would of been rude to not pick up both shades. So that's what I did, 002 Radiant Rose and 004 Shimmering Sand. I will definitely have a review up of these products soon.

Onto the last couple of products and I picked up the L'Oreal Color Infallible Eyeshadow in 006 All Night Blue. I have seen these around and am a bit unsure when it comes to loose eyeshadows but thought at these cheap prices there's no harm in experimenting right? I have never tried any Bourjois Une products so when I saw them on this site it seemed the best time to try them out. I got the Breezy Cheeks Blush in B02 so we shall see how I get on with this. And finally I picked up two of the Maybelline My Mono Eyeshadows in 721 which is a bronze shade and 709 which is a light ivory colour.

So there's my quite large haul. I have fallen in love with Fragrance Direct and would have purchased more like Essie polishes but they didn't have any shades that I don't already own but I will be scoping out the site again soon.

MUA Cosmetics Collaborate with One Direction | The Little Things Collection

You will probably see these posts pop up all over the place but as a avid One Direction fan and yes i'm proud to admit it I thought I would post about this exciting collaboration.
The collection is going to consist of four different products each with a connection to the boys.

First is the Kiss You Lipsticks available in five different shades, one for each of the 1D boys. The first shade is Moments which is a subtle soft pink, then I Wish is an amazing bright coral perfect for the summer. Next is I Want which is for the bright pink lovers out there, Rock Me is the lovely lilac shade and finally for those who love to rock a red lip there's Be Mine.

Next is the Kiss You Lip Polishes again available in five different shades. They are all super moisturising and apparently have a delicious smell to add to the mix. The five shades/scents are Harry loves Strawberry, Zayn loves Watermelon, Louis loves Vanilla, Niall loves Cherry and Liam loves Blueberry.

Then we have the What Makes You Beautiful Cheek Tint in three shades, Coral Cutie, Pink Explosion and Rose Riot. These are perfect for that little flush of colour. They are a cream formulation which are buildable and whether you want a subtle glow or rosy cheek these shades are universal.

And finally we have the Little Things Nail Polishes which I think are going to sell like hot cakes. I have only been able to find the names for two of the shades which are Everything Emerald which is Liams colour and Gold & Gorgeous which is Nialls shade and both of these have an extra bit of shimmer in them.

So there you have it. Do you have anything on your wishlist?

This collection will be released on the 31st July and available from the MUA website or the Superdrug website.

Wishlist Wednesday | USA Edition

I tried to get this posted in time but just missed the midnight deadline so although this is a Wishlist Wednesday post it's going to be posted on a Thursday. I thought for todays post I would do a Wishlist Wednesday but a USA Edition. All these products are items that are unavailable in the UK or really difficult to get hold of without paying a fortune to buy them online.
To start with is the Maybelline The Falsies Big Eye Mascara which I believe is the newest mascara from Maybelline. We have yet to get this in the UK but have heard so many youtubers and bloggers from the across the pond talking about it. It comes with a big brush to do you top lashes with and a little brush for your lower lashes. This is perfect for me as I have minimal lashes on the bottom so find it hard to coat them with mascara without making them go clumpy. I have tried other Maybelline The Falsies mascaras and love them so i'm sure I would love this too. Next is the Sephora Lash Stash which is probably the best idea a makeup brand has come up with. You get five deluxe sample size mascaras from five different brands to trial and test for $25 (with a value of $51). After you have tried them all, in the set comes a voucher for you to take back to Sephora and redeem a full size of one of the five you liked the best. We don't have anything like that in the UK which is probably why I want it so much ha. We get the Maybelline Color Show nail polishes in the UK but I haven't seen the Maybelline Color Show Holographic polishes. There are four shades available and my favourite is the one pictured above Alluring Rose. I love these polishes for the price point as they are only £2.99 but even at a cheap price they are still amazing quality. The L'Oreal The One Sweep Sculpting Bush Duo really remind me of the MAC Blush/Bronzer duos they often release with their limited edition collections but these being L'Oreal are obviously a fraction of the price. There are four shades available and haven't seen any other drugstore/highstreet brand have these to offer. I heard about the Covergirl Clean Whipped Creme Foundation from Marissalace on youtube. I would like to try this one because I've never tried any Covergirl makeup and I have never tried anothing other then a liquid or powder foundation. Marissa gave it quite a good review so hopefully one day I'll be able to get hold of it. The next item I do already own one as my cousin brought it back from Las Vegas for me but its the Maybelline Color Whisper Lipsticks. I added these to my wishlist because although I already own one colour there are about 20 shades to pick from so would love to try some more. The Physicians Formula Sexy Booster Glow Blush is another recommendation I got from Marissalace from youtube. Again I've heard so many things about Physicians Formula from the American beauty bloggers and youtubers but haven't had the chance to try anything from them. Last but not least is another Physicians formula product and it's the Shimmer Strips Custom Eye Enhancing Shadow & Liner from the Nudes Collection. I am a neutrals girl through and through so any eyeshadow palette that gives me a full range or browns, golds and ivories is a dream product for me. These come in four different nude palletes and I would love to try any of them!

Have you tried or do you own any of these products? Are there any other products which you can't get hold of in your country that you would like to try? Let me know below in the comments.
