Event | The Body Shop #SummerEdit

A week or two ago me and a bunch of fellow bloggers/youtubers were invited down to the Seattle hotel down Brighton Marina by The Body Shop for their #SummerEdit Event to see their new and upcoming products as well as some of their latest releases. There are so many amazing new products coming out and it was so nice to be able to try them out and experience the direction TBS are taking the brand. Now as I haven't seen some of my best blogging girls in a while I was busy catching up and testing products that I am a little light on photos of the actual event. At the end of the night we were graced with a goodie bag so I will probably have a post up at a later date about that. It was an amazing evening filled with amazing food (quite possibly the best chips I have ever tasted!!), beauty chat with my fellow ladies, the lovely Body Shop ladies and the experts they had there, beautiful scenery and of course gorgeous products.

Lifestyle | IMATS London 2015

As everyone in the beauty community is probably aware, this weekend just gone was IMATS London 2015. This was my second year going with my fellow makeup obsessed friend Jodie and I felt this year was far better than our first. We had more of a plan of what stalls we wanted to hit plus the addition of brands that were new to IMATS made it all for a better experience. Some of my favourite brands/stalls there were NYX Cosmetics, Kiss Cosmetics, Nanshy, Crown Brush, Beauty B Cosmetics and the Love Makeup stall. Luckily we learnt from last year and hit the NYX stall first as when we thought of going back for round 2 the queue was half way round the hall and hadn't moved for 20-30 minutes. There were also so many amazing body art features going on that constantly had us gawping including Zoe Newlove and Anna Lingis at the Crown Brush stall. I will be following this post up with my IMATS haul so be on the look out for that but for now I thought I'd just show you the pictures I managed to snap in between spending my money so be warned it is very PICTURE HEAVY.

Wishlist | IMATS 2015

As you're reading this I will be queuing up waiting to enter one of my most favourite places on earth... IMATS (also HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO ME!!!). Last year was my first year attending and I am more excited for this year now I know what happens and the layout etc. This year is more exciting also because of the addition of some new brands that have never been at IMATS before.

So whilst I'm busy spending my months wages on makeup I thought I would let you in on some things I'm planning on buying...

Review | Minted Personalised Planners/Notebooks

Last month I wrote a post about a website Minted that sells all different things from art to wedding stationary to notebooks and planners. You can read that post here. They kindly gifted me with some notebooks and weekly/yearly planners to help me get organised with my blog.

It took me a while to finally pick which ones I wanted as there are so many amazing independent artists selling their designs. What I love so much about them is you can personalise them so of course I had to get my name on them. I ended up getting a weekly planner, a yearly planner and then a notebook which is my blog planner.

As you can see I've filled out July in my yearly planner with my shifts for work, when my car is going in for it's MOT and of course my BIRTHDAY & IMATS!! An added bonus is you get a page of stickers at the back which you can add to certain days to jazz it up a bit. I used the balloon for my birthday and the cutlery for when I'm going for lunch with my friends. I think this is such a cute addition to just a plain planner and makes me smile when I come across one of the stickers.

These have certainly made my life a lot easier with remember things and with getting organised and planning future posts etc for my blog. If you're interested in getting some personalised stuff head over to Minted and take a look.

How To | How I Take/Edit My Instagram Photos

I thought I'd do a little bit of a different post today to mix things up. I have been wracking my brain about what I could post about (I even used my new Blog Planner to write up some lists) and I thought I would show you how I edit majority of my Instagram pictures. Now my Instagram is nowhere near as pretty and themed as some out there, mainly because I don't have the time and patience to make it so but I do try my best.

The two apps I use mainly are whitagram and Afterlight. I do have a few photography apps but a lot of them I haven't got round to experimenting with. So I start out by obviously taking my picture, not going to lie it's normally a selfie! Once i'm happy with the picture I open up whitagram which I can't remember if it was free or not. This basically makes it possible to post the whole picture instead of it being cropped to the square. I also like that you get the nice white border which gives the picture a clean look.

Next I open up Afterlight which I believe is 99p but don't quote me on that. This is where I edit the brightness, contrast etc and if I fancy it I'll add a filter. I never use to be bothered with the brightness and other editing properties but I can honestly tell you it makes the world of a difference.

And finally I upload it to Instagram and try to think of a catchy caption. Like I said i'm not 100% happy with my Instagram but I'm getting there. Hope you liked this post as it's slightly different to the norm on here.
