NOTD: Essie - Bikini So Teeny

A few posts ago I showed you a little Essie haul that I recently did. So when I was getting ready for work and I had to choose a polish to wear, I knew straight away it had to be one of my new Essie. That's where I hit a brick wall, what colour should I choose? That's probably the hardest thing I find about painting my nails, I can never choose what colour and I sit and ponder for ages before finally deciding on one. So being that it's actually been warm this week I went with 'Bikini So Teeny'.

It's the most gorgeous sky blue / periwinkle colour. Perfect for the spring/summer season and definitely one for the fingers and toes. Imagine this on your toes in a pair of sparkly flip flops, amazing right? It has a subtle shimmer in it which is the hardest thing to capture on camera. I always find it hard to describe nail polishes but the word that comes to mind when I look at this is creamy (crazy, I know!). I'm not sure if this shade is still available as it was part of the 2012 Summer Collection but after a quick search it still comes up on the Superdrug website so try on their if all else fails. They cost £7.99 but if your looking for a cheaper alternative then try Barry M's 'Prickly Pear' from their Gelly Hi Shine range as it's the closest I've found so far.

(Please excuse the poor paint job, it has been on my nails for 4 days with no top coat as I need to buy a new one!)

Essie Haul

This week I've been on a bit of a Essie kick but all of these only came to a grand total of £21! What a bargain considering they are £7.99 each from Boots or Superdrug.

The first of my purchases were the two metallic colours on the end. I met up with one of my closest friends and her little baby girl for a good old catch up and some food. Whilst we were on our way to KFC we stopped by the shop that's next door called 'The Original Factory Shop' to have a quick peruse. Whilst searching the beauty section I suddenly came across two baskets full of Essie polishes. And to my surprise they were only £3 each! Now they did only have the two colours I purchased so of course I had to grab both.

Both of these colours come from the 2012 Mirror Metallic Summer Collection and I don't own anything like them and I obviously couldn't turn them down at just £3 each.

The other five polishes I purchased were through a deal on Wowcher. I have never bought anything through any of the deal websites before so it was a first time experience for me. The deal was 5 polishes for £15 which is an amazing offer. These are all from part of the 2012 Summer Collection.

I am so excited that I finally own Bikini So Teeny as when this was released last year I could not get hold of it for love or money and now almost a year later I own it!!

Essie 'Watermelon'

Afternoon Lovelies...

I'm just writing this quick post about a new polish I purchased at duty free in Tenerife. As we had time to spare before our flight we wondered round the duty free to see if there was anything worthy to spend my last euros on. That's when I found this little beauty...

When looking at the Essie stands I always feel overwhelmed and never know what colour to buy. But after seeing Gem's instagram photo (go see her lovely blog HERE) of her holiday nails using this colour I knew I had to have it.

Although I know Summer is quite obviously over, has it been freezing cold everywhere in the country? I still love to wear bright colours. It is a cherry pink/red colour with a shiny finish.

The one thing I love about Essie polishes (and I'm not sure if this was recently changed?) is the wide brush which means it only takes 1-2 strokes to cover your entire nail. Plus with this colour you can get away with only 1 coat which is nice when your in a rush to paint your nails.

I can't recommend Essie nail polishes enough and urge people to at least purchase 1 Essie nail polishes for your collection. I am going to be purchasing more in the future. What are your favourite Essie shades? Has anyone got any good recommendations for my next purchase?
