Color Club Glitter Vixen Collection

A while ago I picked up this little beaut in TK Maxx for a bargain price of £7.99!! 7 Glitter polishes from Color Club. I've been meaning to post about them for a while and also review them but I haven't had the chance to actually wear them. All 7 of these are made up of multi-sized glitter suspended in clear polish. Most glitter polishes apply sparsely – these are the complete opposite of sparse. Anyway onto the colours...

Object Of Envy
Object of Envy is a gorgeous emerald green. I definitely do not own anything like this.

Art Of Seduction
This one will make everyone very much think of China Glazes 'Ruby Pumps' but they are massively different. 'Ruby Pumps' is very opaque and is a very fine glitter in a very sheer red polish whereas 'Art of Seduction' is full on red glitter in a clear polish so you can build it up, perfect for this festive time of year.

Sex Symbol
This is such a lovely silver glitter. I can't wait to try this out. I will probably wear this on my ring finger as a accent nail.

Magic Attraction
This is the one polish of the 7 I am most excited to try out. It's a holographic chunky glitter to which I don't own any others.

Sexy Siren
I love this colour. Who doesn't love a turquoise glitter polish.

Tru Passion
This is a delightful violet colour, and you can't go wrong with violet and glitter.

Sultry
I am currently wearing this on my nails as I have to work tomorrow (Christmas Day) so to get my into some sort of a Christmas mood I painted this and surprisingly it only took 2 coats to get a perfect finish.

Hope you enjoyed this little overview and when I get a chance to wear a few more of the colours I might do a swatch & review post. I also have another Color Club Collection post coming up.

Christmas Party Nails: NOTN

Hey Guys, On Monday I had my works Christmas party. I was hoping to post some pictures but it turns out I didn't actually take that many photos!! But what I did think I could do for you guys is show you my nails for the night.

With Flash

Without Flash

Firstly I applied the Elegant Touch Totally Bare false nails (which I picked up from Superdrug, view them here.) I got these as someone at work had recommended them to me. And I have to say I have had them on for a week and they are 100% not chipped and still going strong!

The first colour is OPI 'Lincoln Park After Dark'. I love this colour especially for winter. It was so easy to paint onto the false nails and dried quite quickly.
Then the divine top coat is from the OPI James Bond collection. My dad very kindly purchased it for me. It is the 'The Man With The Golden Gun 18k Gold Leaf Top Coat'. I love the effect this polish gave and I have received so many compliments on my nails since wearing this. You do have to build up the gold leaf effect as you do with glitter polishes but then it dries quite fast so this doesn't take a lot of extra time.

What do you guys think? I'm off to reapply a new colour to my nails. Do you enjoy these type of posts? Let Me Know...

Christmas Party Dress Hunt: ASOS

Since I got such a good response from my post about Christmas Party Dress Hunting in New Look (You can read that post here) I thought maybe I'll do a couple more posts from didn't shops / sites leading up to the festive period.
These are all from asos.com.

I love this dress. It's got the collar on it which is on trend at the moment and I love the skirt on it that puffs out sorta like a tutu. I'm also a lover of lace, so you can't really go wrong with this dress.
Again with the lace (I am rather obsessed!) and I adore the colour of this dress. A burgundy red wine sort of colour is definitely in season and especially for the month of December. I also like that it has little sleeves, which if your like me and hate your arms this would make me feel a little bit more secure and comfortable.
3. ASOS Party Dress with Velvet Trim - £40.00 £30.00
I know a lot of people tend to steer away from the lighter colours around Christmas time. Red wine + a cream dress = DISASTER! But I thought I would just throw this one in to the mix as a suggestion in case your attending a alcohol free soiree.
I chose this dress as it's different to anything I've really seen before. I love the sequinned collar and bodice with the mesh material going across the chest area. Being a curvy girl, I'm not too keen on bodycon dresses but its not something that can't be solved with a pair of spanx!
Can you see a pattern emerging here? Another dress which is black & gold with sequins! Well everyone loves a bit of sparkle at their Christmas party don't they? This is a fun little dress that could still be worn after the festive period on a night out. And it's discounted at the moment...bonus!!
I thought I would chuck in another festive colour and a favourite for a lot of people, a little red dress! Again the bodice covered in sequins with a lovely chiffon skirt. The bodice has a wonderful cornelli flower design.

MAC Mineralize Skinfinish - Lightscapade

MAC Mineralize Skinfinish in 'Lightscapade' Limited Edition 2011

I don't know about you guys but I am addicted to MAC Mineralize skinfinishes! As much as I would love to own all of them, my bank balance just would not allow it. I have 3 in total. Soft and Gentle (permanent), Stereo Rose & Lightscapade.

MAC Lightscapade has been released with many collections and to be honest I can't remember which collection I actually purchased mine from. I do remember I saw it in a collection but didn't have the funds at the time so missed out. But like many limited edition products with MAC sooner or later they are re released and I was lucky enough that I had the funds this time round!

MAC describes it as a 'soft candlelight beige with multi-dimensional shimmer'. At first glance it may look very pale but when applied lightly it just gives a gorgeous shimmer.

All in all I love this highlighter and if you love the skinfinishes like me then next time this is released (it may be a while!) I urge you to go out and buy it!

Shopping Haul

Iphone 4/4S Case - £4 - Primark
This was very much a impulse buy as I grabbed it whilst in the queue. I love the studs on it, which is very much the trend at the moment. Its quite a tough case (I have dropped it already!) and I thought for Primark it was pretty good quality.

Rimmel Wake Me Up Concealer (True Ivory) - £5.49 - Superdrug
This was basically a repurchase of a staple product. I love this and the Rimmel Wake Me Up foundation. Last time I needed to buy a concealer I couldn't find my colour in this anywhere so I tried out the Maybelline Fit Me concealer which I will be reviewing soon. So happy to have this in my life again!!

Elegant Touch Totally Bare Nail Kit - £3.19 - Superdrug
I love wearing falsies for a special occasion or sometimes when I just want a change so I purchased the bare nails so I could paint them whatever colour I wanted. I bought these mainly for my work Christmas party but you do get 2/3 uses out of these packs so might try these out soon.

MUA Bronzed Perfection - £3 - Superdrug
I'm running really low on my MAC Refined Golden bronzer and as we're so close to Christmas I thought I would save some money and buy a cheaper bronzer. I've heard so many good reviews on this bronzer and at a bargain price of £3 I thought where can I go wrong? Can't wait to try it out!

MUA Nail Constellation (Gemini) - £3 - Superdrug
Now these have been probably the biggest rave product for the past couple of months in the beauty world and every time I went into my local Superdrug they were all sold out! So I left it a couple of weeks and finally they were in stock! I picked Gemini because I love the colours of the beads (and it was the star sign closest to mine!!) Can't wait to try this out and I'll try to get a post up about it.

Barry M Gelly Hi Shine (Blackberry) - £3.99 - Superdrug
I already own the Blueberry colour and absolutely fell in love with it. I love the fact that you don't need a top coat with these polishes and they still last quite a while before they chip. The Blueberry colour I own is quite light so to help my transformation into winter I wanted a darker colour and I'm absolutely loving dark blues right now.

Christmas Party Dress Hunting in New Look

It's that time of year again, everyone is going manic trying to find the perfect dress for the Christmas party. Whether it be a friends party, family or work you just know when you find 'THE' dress. So I thought why not do a blog post on a couple of dresses I found whilst browsing the New Look site.

This is actually the dress I have purchased for my work Christmas party. I love the 2 chiffon sides which as a curvy girl helps hide some lumps and bumps I don't like to show. I also love the contrast between the pink bodycon dress and the black chiffon.
2. Gold Sequin 2 in 1 Sleeveless Dress - £27.99 £17.99
This is your typical Christmas party dress, sequins galore. But I do love the floaty white bottom of the dress. And the fact that is discounted...bonus!!
Again another sequin number, this time completely sequinned out! I've never owned a all sequin dress but one day hopefully I will. The only thing I find about sequins on the top part of a dress is they always seem to scratch my arms, any ideas on how to stop this??
This is a dress on the more expensive end of the scale. It's a lovely mix of lace and silk, which definitely gives it it's luxurious price tag. Also skater type dresses seem to be very popular at the moment.
Ok so I went a little bit sequin crazy when picking dresses. But who doesn't love a bit of bling on their dress at Christmas? I personally love dresses with an open back (although it does make it difficult to find a bra to wear!).

I found it so hard to whittle it down to just a few dresses. If you guys like this post I might do some more from other stores. What do you think?

Mac 'Cut A Caper' Lipstick

I'm a pink kinda lipstick girl, always have been and always probably will be. But I am starting to inject more colour variation into my collection. Introducing to you Cut A Caper...

This was released with the Heavenly Creatures collection and as soon as I saw it I was drawn to it. This is a very odd occurrence for me so I know I had to have it. Lucky for me this collection was released right before my birthday so 2 of my lovely friends got me 2 of these bad boys and lucky they did as it basically sold out everywhere straight away. I love wearing this on nights outs.

(Excuse the chipped nails!!)

Anyone else own and L.O.V.E this lipstick?

Benefit Box Blushers

Unless you have been living under a rock in the beauty world everyone knows the oh so famous Benefit box blushes. As I work in a beauty department I get the pleasure of playing about with all the box blushes but I do own 2 of them myself.

As you can tell from the picture, my Sugarbomb has been slightly more loved then my Thrrrob. This tends to happen to the packaging on the blushers. They are made from sturdy cardboard which means they can go through the wars and still come out just slightly scratched. All the box blushers come with a little brush. There is much controversy to do with the brush, some people love them some hate. With me it makes no difference, they are great to use when out and about but when I'm at home I use my MAC.
Benefit Thrrrob Box Blusher - Discontinued

Sadly this box blusher is actually discontinued so is no longer available, unless you find a genuine one on ebay. It gives the perfect pink glow to the cheeks and as all the other blushers have an amazing scent to them.

On the website its described as 4 complementary shades of peach, soft plum, pink & rose that creates a natural radiance. I love this blusher, it gives the right amount of glow to the cheeks. You can swirl the colours together or wear them alone.

Do you own any box blushers? Which are your favourites?
