Hello lovelies...

Wow 200 followers, I can't quite believe it. Now as the title says I will be doing a 200 followers giveaway but as I said I'm going away at the beginning of September and I have little money until I get paid. I'm going to probably do the giveaway at the end of September/Beginning of October. I haven't got any prizes together as of yet but as soon as I work out what I'm going to give you lovely people I will do another blog post.

Thank you again for such kind comments and following my little blog.

Award Time...

Hello Lovelies...

I got a delightful comment on my blog today from the lovely Clare over at A Bit Of This and That nominating me for The Sunshine Award.

There are a few rules with this award and they are as follows...
1. Include award logo in a post or on your blog page.
2. Answer (10) questions about yourself. These are below.
3. Nominate 10-12 other fabulous bloggers.
4. Link your nominees to the post and comment on their blog, letting them know about the award.
5. Share the love and link the person who nominated you.

And the 10 questions are...

1. What would you most like to change about yourself?
If there was 1 thing I could change about myself it would be how responsible I am with my money. I'm no stranger to being addicted to shopping which is my devil. Also It's not that I'm completely unhappy with my body but with time I will hopefully change the bits I'm not 100% happy with.

2. What is your theme song?
Hmmm... I'm not sure I would say I have a theme song but there have been a lot of songs which sum up events of my life.

3. One part of your life, a memory, action, etc. that you wish you could surgically remove from your brain?
I wouldn't change anything that's happened in my life. The life old saying 'Everything Happens For A Reason' is something I totally believe in. Bad things that may happen in life is what makes us the people we are today.

4. What generation do you wish you had been a part of?
I think from watching Grease endless amounts of time that's the generation I would love to have been a part of. The fashion and i secretly think that everyone back then broke into song just like they did in the movie ha.

5. What was your favorite childhood toy?
My favourite toy was a Big Bird. I was a massive fan of Sesame Street and Big Bird was my favourite one. He had a cord that when you pulled it said Big Bird phrases.

6. What is your favorite housecleaning chore?
I only have favourite chores when I'm in the mood to do them. I like washing up (but not the drying up and putting away) and also tidying my room and changing it round.

7. Do you Twitter?
I do have Twitter and I am addicted to it. I love it to keep in contact with friends and also as a blogger to tell my followers about things with my blog. Although I do sometimes go through phases where I don't go on it for a period of time.

8. Any goals?
I think I have 2 major goals. 1 is to sort out my finances and finally be debt free. And the other is to finally sort out a path to enter into my dream job of being a Make-up Artist. That is obviously a long term goal.

9. Do you really drink margaritas all the time?
I have never tried a Margarita in my life. First time for everything though.

10. What is the ugliest car you've ever driven and were embarrassed to be seen in?
I've never had a ugly car and can say I have never been in a ugly car that I was ashamed of being in. My 2 cars I've owned are a Ford KA and my current car a Peugeot 107, both of which I loved.

The 10 people I tag are the following...

So there we have it. I'm so grateful people enjoy my blog enough to nominate me for awards.

A Tutorial With A Bite....

Evening Lovelies...
I know my blog is one of beauty but I thought it would be nice to break it up a little bit and throw a few non beauty related posts into the mix. Tonight I want to share with you the dessert I made tonight. It is most definitely a don't look at the calorie content dessert but it is nice to treat yourselves every now and then when we have all worked hard.

Ingredients....
  • 250g digestives
  • 75g soft unsalted butter
  • 400g jar Nutella, at room temp
  • 100g chopped mix nuts
  • 500g cream cheese, at room temp
  • 60g icing sugar

Method....

Step 1: Break the digestives into the bowl of a processor, add the butter and a 15ml tablespoon of Nutella, and blitz until it starts to clump. Add 25g of the nuts and continue to pulse until you have a damp, sandy mixture.

Step 2: Tip into a 23cm round springform and press into the base either using your hands or the back of a spoon. Place in the fridge to chill.

Step 3: Beat the cream cheese and icing sugar until smooth and then add the remaining Nutella to the cream cheese mixture, and continue beating until combined.

Step 4: Take the springform out of the fridge and carefully smooth the Nutella mixture over the base. Scatter the remaining 75g of chopped nuts on top to cover and place tin in fridge for at least four hours or overnight. Serve straight from the fridge for best results.

I sourced this recipe from here. It's such a delicious treat if you love all things sweet and so easy, there is no baking involved. Just pop it in the fridge to chill. I love making this for my family and I'm pretty sure they have enjoyed eating it. If anyone tries out this recipe let me know how you get on. Enjoy...

Beauty Haul...

Afternoon Lovelies!
I've got a little haul for you today. It's only teeny as I'm saving my money for my holiday which is in 3 1/2 weeks eeeek so excited! There's makeup, skincare and also jewellery and a drink thrown in for good measure.

Rimmel Wake Me Up Concealer 'True Ivory'

I recently finished my MAC Pro Longwear concealer and since my funds are rather tight at the moment I needed to buy a cheapish one to last me until I could afford to repurchase my MAC one. Which is when I spotted this baby. Since I'm in love with the foundation surely it would make sense that I would love the concealer. I will post a review on this in the next coming weeks to tell you how I feel about it.

Rimmel Wake Me Up Foundation '103 True Ivory'

This was simply a repurchase. I don't know what else to say about this product that you haven't already read me go on about in other posts. This is definitely a staple in my makeup routine now and I can't live without it.

Tresor Paris Bissey 8mm Earrings

I'm one of these people that suffer when wearing cheap earrings. So I needed a good pair for everyday wear that I could wear that wouldn't make my ears sore and unbearable. Roll up Tresor Paris. They come in different sizes (6mm, 8mm or 10mm) and I picked the 8mm for £14. I love these and think they are the trend at the moment.

Stila SPF30 Oil-Free Sheer Colour Tinted Moisturizer

I'm sure everyone in the beauty blogging world has discovered that Poundland has started selling Stila products. As soon as I found out I hopped on down to ym local Poundland to see what I could find. Mine didn't have a lot of stuff just this tinted moisturizer and a powder which was far too light for me. Look out for a blog post once I've used it a couple of times.

Clearasil Ultra Overnight Lotion

I also picked this up in Poundland as a spur of the moment purchase. Just noticed it and thought I'd give it a try. Never used any Clearasil products before so am interested to see how well this works.

Boots Baby Extra Large Cotton Wool Pads

I basically picked these up after seeing Zoe mention them in one of her youtube videos saying how much more stronger they were and how she preferred them so I thought why not I'll give them a go.

Cetaphil Gentle Skin Cleanser

This is also a repurchase as I have fallen in love with this stuff. It has helped my skin so much and is such a quick and easy (and a little bit lazy) way of removing my makeup. I might do a review post on this if anyone is interested??

Dr Pepper Cherry Soda Drink

Last but not least is this drink. I have yet to try it and am kinda reluctantly holding off drinking it as I don't want it to go. I'm lucky to live in Brighton and have a lot of weird and wonderful shops to peruse. They have just opened up a new sweet shop which sells a lot of american/old english food and drink. It's so exciting and I did also purchase a Fanta Grape drink and Grape flavoured Pop Tarts both which I have already consumed ha.

Thats all of what I bought. Hope you have enjoyed this post. Let me know what you have purchased recently!

Just A Quick Note To Say...

Hello Lovelies...

My Photo

Just wanted to do a quick little post just to say a few things.

1. I am trying to get a haul post out, I'm just trying to find the time to take the pictures etc. But look out for this in the next couple of days.

2. Very exciting stuff is happening soon on my blog. I'm so grateful for every single one of you who take time out of your lives to read my little blog. I'm nearing 200 followers and when I do I want to do a giveaway to thank you all. I'm going away at the beginning of September to Tenerife and have so much going on before hand so if I am up to 200 followers before then I am going to just hold it off until after I get back. I'm still thinking of the prizes etc so when I have all them finalized I will do a post on it!

Thanks again for everyone who likes to read my ramblings and has the patience with me whilst I still get to grips with being a beauty blogger.

But for now...

July Favourites

Well here we are beginning of August, past half way through the year. Where is time going?? I feel like 2012 has flown by already. Sorry I've been away the past couple of days had a hectic week with my best friends wedding and my other best friends baby shower. But I'm back with a quick little post on my July favourites.

Rimmel Wake Me Up Foundation
What can I say about this foundation that you probably haven't all heard already. Well I love it. I have been searching for months for the perfect foundation and failed. Everything from MAC to Benefit, nothing suited my skin. Until I found this little beauty. For £9 a bottle I don't think it's too shabby and it does exactly what it says on the tin, it brightens my skin and makes me look awake. Just what I need for my skin when I start work at 5AM!!

Cetaphil Gentle Skin Cleanser
I looked high and low for this stuff months ago when it was big in the beauty blog world but failed miserably until this month when I found out my local Asda actually sell the range so I picked up the gentle skin cleanser to try out. OMG I love this stuff. It has helped my skin so much with it's dryness problems. Cannot recommend this stuff more to anyone suffering with dry skin!

MUA Heaven & Earth Palette
I have used this palette everyday for my eyeshadow throughout July. In my job as strange as it sounds I work around makeup so I feel I have to at least look like I can do my own makeup before advising others with theirs. So as I have to be up at 2.30AM I like something easy and simple for my makeup (as usually I'm half asleep when applying it) and this is perfect. I sometimes use 2 colours but most commonly just use 1 all over the lid.

Color Club 'Eiffel Tower Power'
This has been my staple colour for my nails this month. It's a simple pale pink/nude colour. Only downside to it is you need about 5/6 coats to make it a completely solid colour. But if your looking for a pink/nude then I purchased this from ebay from Beautyzone2007 for a lovely cheap price of £3 (including p&p) They are a lovely seller and very fast delivery considering it comes from the US. They also sell O.P.I, China Glaze & Essie plus loads more.

London 2012 Olympic Games
Obviously I couldn't do a July favourites without putting in the obvious. I have been glued to the olympic games since the opening ceremony. Something about these events that make me very patriotic so I love sitting there shouting at my tv cheering on Team GB. From diving to rowing, swimming to the gymnastics I love watching it all. Can't wait for Tom Daley to appear back on my tv as I have a little crush on him and also for the Athletics to start.

Instagram App
If you've read previous posts your see that I love Instagram. Doesn't everyone though? Ha There's something strangely fun about posting pictures of my life and looking at other peoples pictures and their lives. If you want to follow me there's a widget to the right on my blog and also a link below!

What have you been enjoying in July??
