My First OOTD - January '13

Top - H&M £14.99
Jeans - Primark £7.00
Boots - Primark £5.00

Well welcome to my first OOTD. I've got to say thank you to my dad for taking the picture for me. This was a big deal for me as I'm not the most confident person when it comes to my body. But being in the beauty bloggers community for a year now, I can say that it's definitely helped me with some of my body issues. I have fallen in love with this jumper (even though I've only had this for a couple of days!) and I bought it because I saw Sophie from SophieIsMadeUp had purchased it and Instagrammed it and I knew I would love it. Also I need more jumpers in my life. It's available in 6 colours:

The jeans are just standard skinny jeans from Primark. I needed more jeans and don't own any light wash ones, mine are all dark so I picked these up and at only £7 its a bargain. And the boots are the cheap version of Uggs from Primark!!

Hope you enjoyed this, and let me know if you want more of these posts in the future.

American Food Haul

I have a mad love for the USA! I love their culture, lifestyle and most importantly FOOD! So when me and my mum found out there was an online store which sold food from across the pond we were so excited. We have a Cyber Candy where we live but I haven't been there for a couple of years as it's a bit out of the way from town and there's no parking by it. So when me and mum found another site which has two stand alone stores in Guildford and Aldershot we were more then ready to get in the car and visit them. So today I thought i'd show you what I purchased.

Dr Pepper Cherry | Arizona Lite Half Iced Tea Half Lemonade | Coca-Cola Vanilla |
 Arizona Peach Iced Tea | Welch's Grape Soda

Stars & Stripes Cotton Candy | Tostitos Blue Corn Tortilla Chips

Cheez-It Crackers | Pillsbury Dark Chocolate Cake Mix

Pepperidge Farm Finz! | Lucky Charms Cereal

Wonka Pixy Stix | Sour & Original Razzles | Grape Jell-O |
Rainbow Sorbet Extra Gum | Wonka Giant Pixy Stix

Does anything take your fancy? Have you been to any American sweet shops?

Beauty Haul

So January is a looooong month for me. I got paid early in December (21st to be exact) and then didn't get paid until today (the 28th!). It's only an extra week and a bit but that's a huge deal when your addicted to spending money on beauty items like I am. But of course today is payday so that has to mean a trip into town right?? First stop Boots...

Soap & Glory Sugar Crush Body Wash £6.50
I love Soap & Glory products and keep umming and arring over the sugar crush body scrub but every time I pick it up I get a little voice in my head saying "You won't use it, put it down, don't waste your money!" so after I had done this today I noticed this little beauty. I had previously seen it on Zoella's youtube channel as she absolutely loves it so I thought why not lets try it.

John Frieda Go Blonder Lightening Spray £6.99
This is a repurchase. Since I've been going blonde I've been finding easy ways to keep the blonde, well blonde. I can't always afford to get my hair done every 4-6 weeks like recommended so this helps me keep my hair light ready for my next appointment at the hairdresser which so happens to be Wednesday.

L'Oreal Paris Elvive Nutri-Gloss Crystal Sparkling Conditioner £2.99
I always feel a bit weird blogging about shampoo or conditioner unless its a special one if you get what I mean. But story behind this is I use the Tigi Dumb Blonde shampoo which I got from TK Maxx a while ago but haven't got the conditioner so I've been making do with others. I keep seeing this advertised and really wanted to try it so as seen as I have a shampoo I just got the conditioner. Phew that sounds like a lot of gobbledegoop!

Broadway Nails Real Life Short Bare £4.40
I'm pretty sure I may have mentioned these already on my blog but I love them. I love changing the colour of my polish very frequently so to get gel, acrylic or shellac isn't ideal for me. Cheap solution... these!! They are bare so all you have to do is choose your polish and away you go. And to remove the colour without removing the nail just use a non-acetone nail polish remover. These are the best glue on nails I have ever tried and last time I wore them they lasted me two and a bit weeks!

And the two goodies from New Look...

Kelly Brook Natural Eyes Eye Shadow Palette £2.99
This is my first eye shadow product from Kelly Brook range. I already own a lip gloss and my next product. I'm a neutral girl at heart so once I saw these colours I knew I would love it. Once I've tried out the quality, sustainability etc I'll be doing a review on them.

Kelly Brook Lip Gloss in 'Harbour Island' £2.99
So as above I said I already own a lip gloss from the Kelly Brook range in New Look. I bought 'Paradise' a couple of months ago and absolutely love it so thought I'd try a different colour. This is a deep fuchsia pink which is gorgeous. I may do a post on the two colours I own and also a review.

Thanks for reading!

My Everyday Makeup

I was thinking of blog posts I could do on my week off from work and it occurred to me I've never done a 'Everyday Makeup' post, so that's what I'm bringing to you today.

Rimmel Wake Me Up Foundation & Concealer {£8.99 & £5.49}
These 2 products have been my holy grail foundation and concealer for the past 3/4 months. I have tried other concealers since but just nothing compares to this little wonderstick in a tube! I haven't even bothered trying a different foundation as I love this one way too much and get complimented on my makeup when I'm wearing it. I wear shade 103 True Ivory in the foundation and 020 True Ivory in the concealer. Both are available from Boots.

MUA Bronzed Perfection {£3.00}
This is only the second bronzer I have ever worn in my life. My first one was MAC's 'Refined Golden' and when I eventually reached pan and finished it I didn't really have the money to fork out for another one. So I took to twitter to see what you guys thought. A lot of you had raved about the MUA Bronzed Perfection so I thought at £3 there's not a lot to lose. And I am so glad I tried it because I find it near identical to 'Refined Golden' at a fraction of the price. Available from the MUA Website.

MAC Mineralize Blush Duo {£19.00}
Unfortunately these were LE with the Too Fabulous collection way back in March 2010 so are no longer available to purchase (unless you track them down on eBay, just beware of fakes!). These are the only two I picked up from the collection, from left to right is 'Rhapsody In Two' and 'Two Virtues'. I neglected these for a very long time and have just rediscovered them and put them into my everyday makeup. I use 'Rhapsody In Two' as a highlight on my cheekbones and 'Two Virtues' on the apples of my cheek to give myself a subtle glow. Other mineralized blushers are available from MAC.

Maybelline Color Tattoo 24HR By Eye Studio {£4.99}
I was late jumping on the bandwagon with these and this is so far the only one I own. As you may know I am a neutrals girl at heart and love my bronzes, golds and browns. The one I got is '35-On and on Bronze'. Perfect for me right! I know you can wear this on it's own as it's a gel-cream eyeshadow but I like to layer mine with the next product I'm going to show you. These are available in array of colours from Boots.

MUA Heaven & Earth Eyeshadow Palette {£4.00}
This is what I like to layer over the Maybelline Color Tattoo gel-cream eyeshadow. You can see by the photo which are my favourite shades. I tend to stick to the same colours although I do try to change it up, and will have to when my two favourite which have already hit pan completely run out which will be a sad day for me. This palette is definitely a must have for any neutral lovers like me. It is available from the MUA Website.

MAC Eyeshadow 'Charcoal Brown' {£12.00}
I've tried all the different forms of filling in your eyebrows. From Benefits 'Brow-zings' to eyebrow pencils to the MAC Penultimate eyebrow marker. But I have to say my favourite is just plain old eyeshadow. There are obviously a few little rules. Always make sure the eyeshadow your going to use is matte, nobody wants disco balls for eyebrows! And I personally find that when using an eyeshadow it's best to go a few shades lighter then your eyebrow colour. This way it doesn't darken your eyebrows too much and make them look drawn on, after all I like them to look somewhat natural! I use 'Charcoal Brown' from MAC and it is the perfect colour for me! It's available from MAC.

MAC Fluidline 'Blacktrack' {£14.00}
Gel liner has been a godsend for me. I used pencil for a while but it always seemed to fade and almost disappear so I tried liquid. Liquid wasn't as bad as pencil and i loved it for a while until I started to always notice it transferred onto my crease. Great I thought I'll just have to go on looking ill with no eyeliner. Then someone recommended fluidline to me and straight away I thought there's no way I could use it, especially having to use a brush. But like always I'm willing to give it a try, now say hello to my holy grail eyeliner! It's available in various colours from MAC.

L'Oreal Paris Volume Million Lashes {£10.99}
Last but not least I finish my look off with mascara. I can't tell how many mascaras I have tried out in the past and i'm sure a lot of you are the same. I change my mascara up all the time (as you should after 3 months) so I find different outcomes with them all. I love 'Dior Extase' but I don't have the bank balance to be repurchasing that every 3 months so I love it when I find a drugstore mascara which I can't stop using. This happens to be mine, 'Volume Million Lashes' does everything I want it to and more! This is available at Boots.

So what do you guys think? Do you use any of the same products as me?

Benefit Skincare

Another Benefit addiction coming my way I feel. I have yet to purchase any full sizes of the skincare but can say just by the samples that I LOVE it! I'm always looking for new skincare as my skin likes to change so often from dry to combination to oily I just can't keep up with it.

Triple Performing Facial Emulsion SPF15 PA++ - £19.50
When I first saw this I thought to myself what the hell is a face emulsion?? If I'm correct I believe it's a lighter option of a face cream. Most dry skin sufferers prefer a thicker cream as they feel it's doing more than the lighter option of a emulsion. As I suffer from majority dry combination, my T-Zone suffers from a tad of oil so I shall be using this on just that. It hydrates, protects and comforts the skin with a oil free, lightweight formula.

Refined Finish Facial Polish - £17.50
I love how Benefit haven't gone for the common usual names like exfoliator instead they call it a face polish, it makes the product stand out for me. This is to be used 1-2 times a week after cleansing to brighten the complexion. It exfoliates to purify the skin and help minimize the appearance of pores to reveal your skins natural radiance. I haven't got round to trying this yet but can't wait as I love the feeling after exfoliating.

Total Moisture Facial Cream - £26.50
This is by far my most favourite product from their skincare range so far. A moisturizer is the one product I find hardest to find one to suit me perfectly. And since my skin is always changing this adds to the hunt of the perfect moisturizer. But since using Benefit's total moisture my skins condition has improved quite significally. It provides concentrated and long term hydration for a refreshed complexion.

It's Potent! Eye Cream - £23.50
Now I deserve a slap on the hand as when it comes to eye creams I've never really bothered with them. But I now am definitely seeing the side effects of not using one. I've noticed I am getting bigger bags (this could also have to do with starting work at 5am!) and I'm getting dark circles now. I'm definitely going to try this out and see if it makes a difference. It's Potent helps fade dark circles and helps smooth fine lines for brighter younger looking eyes.

All items available in full size from the Benefit site here.
Have you tried Benefit's skincare yet? What are your thoughts on it?

January 2013 Wishlist

1. Urban Decay Naked Basics Palette {£20} - I don't actually own any of the UD Naked Palettes which I am actually quite upset about but I've promised myself one day I will treat myself to one. This is the latest palette to be released which consists of 6 matte shadows perfect to go from a classic neutral day look to a smokey dark night out look.

2. Bumble and bumble Hairdresser's Invisible Oil {£30} - I've heard so many bbloggers talk about this product lately and I really would love to try it for myself. It reduces frizz and fly aways and adds a subtle shine to the hair. I've never tried any Bumble and bumble products so if you have any recommendations then please tell me in a comment below.

3. Nars Blush in 'Orgasm' {£21} - I don't own any Nars products so again this year I've promised myself I'm going to get at least 1 product from each brand I don't own anything of. So excited and of course this is one of the most talked about products in the beauty blogging world.

4. Origins Super Spot Remover {£13} - I see a running theme in this months wishlist is all products from brands i own nothing of. And also all big talked about products, but then I suppose that's partly what makes me want to try the product out. So a lot of bbloggers have raved about how good this product is and since I'm suffering at the moment from breakouts I really want to try this.

5. Laura Mercier Creme Smooth Lip Colour in 'Antique Pink' {£20} - I have tried the bath & body line and have had samples of the makeup line but have yet to purchase a full size product myself. I work where there is a Laura Mercier counter so lucky I can play around and see what I want to buy and I definitely want to try these lipsticks out. The pigmentation is amazing and the staying power is amazing!!

So there you have it my January 2013 Wishlist, what are you lusting over?

Laura Mercier Christmas Present

Evening guys! So I was meant to tap out a What I Got For Christmas post but as usual I've been all over the place and never got round to actually doing it. So I thought what would be better is showing you one of my many lovely gifts I received. My lovely friend Jordan bought me these lovely gifts and I absolutely love them. It was a bit of a cheat because A. She works for Laura Mercier and B. We bought each other what we wanted most for the body line because we couldn't justify spending the pennies on ourselves ha.

So as you can see I received the Creme Brulee Honey Bath and the Almond Coconut Milk hand creme. Both products I am in LOVE with. I use the hand cremes at work all the time so I knew I would love it now I have one for home. I love the almond coconut milk scent as it's not too strong but strong enough to be able to smell it all day... and I mean all day!
The honey bath is just indescribable. It is the most amazing scent ever. If you love sweet, foody smells then this is most definitely for you!!

When I've used the Honey bath a bit more I'll do a more in-depth review.
Have you tried any of the body line from Laura Mercier?

Macadamia Healing Oil Treatment Review

As a girl who lusts after bright blonde hair and unfortunately was not born with it I bleach my hair quite a lot so I do find I suffer with dry hair (although I do get complemented on how good condition my hair is in!).
I was using my Vo5 Miracle Concentrate to battle my dry ends and have done for a couple of months and absolutely love it. A couple of months ago I made an order on cheapsmells.com and was sent a little tester bottle, 10ml to be exact of the Macadamia Healing Oil Treatment. I didn't think about using it straight away as I was a bit scared to if I'm being honest. I always have this image that It will just make my hair into a grease ball  The Vo5 Miracle Concentrate comes with a pipette so it's quite easy to measure out how much but looking at the Macadamia oil I thought it would just come pouring out into my hand.
So a couple of weeks ago I saw it sitting with my hair products and just thought what the heck I'll give it a go. So firstly its as expected a light oil with a nutty cologne smell which isn't too strong but enough you can smell it. I quite like it actually. I slowly pour a little bit into my palm and rub my hands together so it distributes throughout my hair evenly. I work it mainly into my ends but with the last little bit left on my hand I just work upwards but not on my roots.
Let me tell you now I love this friggin stuff! The ends of my hair have never been so soft and people have noticed the change in my hair which is always a bonus! I much prefer this to the Vo5 Miracle Concentrate... Now if only the prices resemble the same.

It is available to purchase from their own website www.macadamiahair.co.uk/ but lets not kid ourselves we all buy from the cheaper beauty sites so I shall list the prices from www.cheapsmells.com

*10ml Healing Oil Treatment...£3.45
*30ml Healing Oil Treatment...£7.98

It also comes in a spray form but I haven't heard good reviews on this compared to the oil so we shall see maybe I will try it maybe not. But it has definitely made me interested to see what the rest of their products are like. Have you tried this before? Did you like it?
